1. Create your account
Sign up with Google or an email address. There is nothing to prepare beyond the exact name of your business and, if it already exists, its Ohio entity number. Look it up here if you do not have it.
2. Order statutory agent service
Add one business or several and pay $49 per business by card. Forming a new company? Add the formation to the same order, or name us on articles you file yourself.
3. E-sign the consent
Ohio requires the agent's acceptance on file, and we need your authorization to act for the business. Anyone authorized to act for the company can sign in the portal. It takes about a minute.
4. Get the appointment on the state's record
This is the step that makes it official, and it can go either way. You can file it using the instructions page in your portal, which shows our exact details next to each state field. Or you can have us submit it. An existing business pays the state $25 to change its agent. We check the state record before treating the appointment as complete.
5. We receive, scan, and alert
Paper arrives at 3416 Erhart Road. We log it, scan it, and publish it to your portal the same business day. Each contact you named gets an email and a text. If an urgent document is not acknowledged, we call.
6. You read it and act
The portal holds the scan and a record of who viewed it. You decide what to do next. If it is a summons, the response deadline runs from service, so do not wait. Our guide on what to do when you are served covers the first steps.
7. Renewal
The service renews yearly on the card on file. To end it, cancel in the portal for that one business. Cancellation is pending until the end of the billing period and can be undone until then.
Questions
How long does the whole setup take?
The account, order, and consent take a few minutes. The state usually processes a Form 521 within several business days of receiving it, and faster with a paid rush.
Can several people get the alerts?
Yes. Name your attorney, accountant, partner, or office manager as contacts. There is no charge per contact.
