Statutory agent service
Appointment, acceptance, receipt of service of process and state correspondence, same-business-day scanning, and originals of anything served kept for seven years.
$49 / yearEvery Ohio LLC, corporation, and nonprofit must maintain a statutory agent at an Ohio street address or risk cancellation by the Secretary of State. We hold that appointment for businesses across all 88 counties, receive what the courts and the state send, and put it in front of you the same business day.
E-sign the consent in your portal, then file the appointment with the Secretary of State yourself, or have us file it.
Most states say "registered agent." Ohio's code, its forms, and its online filing system say "statutory agent," and the forms will not go through without one. If you have been searching for the phrase Ohio actually uses, this is it, and we are the company that serves in that role.
The duty is simple to state and easy to get wrong: be at an Ohio street address during business hours, accept service of process and official mail for the entity, and get it to the owner fast enough to act on it. An agent who misses a summons can cost the business a default judgment. An agent who moves without updating the state can get the entity's articles canceled.
We exist to make the role boring. The office is open during business hours, and every document is scanned, logged, and sent out the same business day it arrives.
| Feature | Yourself | National chain | Ohio Statutory Agent |

| When a summons arrives | Whenever you check the mail | Varies by provider | Scanned the same business day, with a text, an email, and a call if unacknowledged |
| Who you deal with | Nobody | Often a national support team | A small Ohio company, by portal message or phone |
| The state form | You file it | Varies by provider | You file it, or we do |

The Secretary of State can cancel the entity's articles after notice, and until a new agent is appointed, anyone suing the business can serve the Secretary of State instead of you. You may not learn about the case until a judgment is entered.
No. Ohio requires a usual place of business that is open during normal hours with someone present to accept papers. A box or a mailbox store does not qualify, and the state's forms refuse them.
